About the Role

The Manager, Family & Community Support, delivers high-quality clinical and consultative services to adoptive families and individuals within the adoption constellation. This role manages a diverse client caseload, provides therapeutic interventions, and offers consultation services tailored to the unique needs of adoptive families. The Manager supports adoptees, adoptive parents, and birth parents, responds to clinical inquiries, supports community events, and offers guidance, resources, and emotional assistance to individuals connected to adoption and the foster care system.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver ongoing clinical services and monitoring across multiple modalities to individuals and families within the adoption constellation, both private and foster care adoption.
  • Participate in team consultation and clinical supervision as a member of the clinical team.
  • Complete progress notes and other written documentation in accordance with organization protocol and contractual agreements.
  • Facilitate community programming, collaborating with the Associate Director on outreach and onboarding for activities and feedback gathering.
  • Complete administrative roles associated with Community Programming along with the Associate Director.
  • Provide logistical and setup support for community events.
  • Assist the Associate Director with planning a yearly calendar of events for the Adoption community.
  • Ensure electronic and physical files are maintained for clients and program events.
  • Represent Spence-Chapin at conferences, community events, and with partners when needed.
  • Engage in outreach and relationship building to expand the network of partner organizations.
  • Provide additional assistance within and outside of counseling areas, as requested and/or appropriate, to ensure the ongoing success of counseling services at the organization.
  • Perform any other departmental or agency-related duties or special projects as directed by supervisor.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience in the human/social services field.
  • Foster care or adoption experience strongly preferred.

Skills

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Experience with database platforms.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize workload, administer, and resolve problems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively in highly emotional situations.
