About the Role

Seeking a compassionate, team-oriented Registered Nurse (RN) with strong clinical skills and a commitment to exceptional patient care for our Surgical Center. This role is crucial for delivering high-quality patient care throughout pre-operative, operative, and post-operative phases.

Responsibilities

• Provides emotional support to patients during pre-operative, operative, and post-operative stages.
• Performs pre-operative and post-operative activities to coordinate surgical procedures and ensure quality patient care.
• Completes patient pre-operative assessments and documents according to policy.
• Performs operative activities including checking room supplies, assisting the surgical technician, anticipating surgical team needs, performing surgical counts, transporting patients, and reporting to the recovery team.
• Receives patients from the post-anesthesia recovery room with a report of pertinent history and procedure.
• Assesses patients transferred from the post-anesthesia recovery room and documents the assessment.
• Monitors patients for condition changes and reports any changes to the physician.
• Reviews physician's discharge instructions with patients and/or their families and answers questions.
• Assists in preparing patients for discharge from the Center to ensure continuity of nursing care.
• Follows proper infection control and safety precautions in all duties.

Requirements

• 2+ years clinical nursing experience required.
• BLS/ACLS certification required.

Skills

• Proficient in nursing assessment.
• Proficient in intravenous therapy.
• Proficient in computer programs including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
