About the Role
Seeking a compassionate, team-oriented Registered Nurse (RN) with strong clinical skills and a commitment to exceptional patient care for our Surgical Center. This role is crucial for delivering high-quality patient care throughout pre-operative, operative, and post-operative phases.
Responsibilities
- Provides emotional support to patients during pre-operative, operative, and post-operative stages.
- Performs pre-operative and post-operative activities to coordinate surgical procedures and ensure quality patient care.
- Completes patient pre-operative assessments and documents according to policy.
- Performs operative activities including checking room supplies, assisting the surgical technician, anticipating surgical team needs, performing surgical counts, transporting patients, and reporting to the recovery team.
- Receives patients from the post-anesthesia recovery room with a report of pertinent history and procedure.
- Assesses patients transferred from the post-anesthesia recovery room and documents the assessment.
- Monitors patients for condition changes and reports any changes to the physician.
- Reviews physician's discharge instructions with patients and/or their families and answers questions.
- Assists in preparing patients for discharge from the Center to ensure continuity of nursing care.
- Follows proper infection control and safety precautions in all duties.
Requirements
- 2+ years clinical nursing experience required.
- BLS/ACLS certification required.
Skills
- Proficient in nursing assessment.
- Proficient in intravenous therapy.
- Proficient in computer programs including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
