Responsibilities

  • Assist foreman with installation, service, and troubleshooting of automatic fire sprinkler systems and related equipment.
  • Assist foreman with installation of fire sprinkler systems in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.
  • Learn and use project drawings to accurately interpret installation requirements and layout.
  • Learn to thread and groove pipe, cut hanger rods, climb ladders, hang pipe, read blueprints, layout, keep work area clean, and use appropriate equipment.
  • Complete all training requirements, including safety and certifications.
  • Submit accurate timesheets, including job numbers/names, overtime, and travel pay, on time.
  • Ensure all required documents are complete, accurate, professional, and have required signatures.
  • Manage inventory by reviewing, updating, and approving packing slips and material.
  • Maintain and care for equipment, including trucks, lifts, and tools.
  • Keep jobsites clean and organized.
  • Ensure production efficiency by monitoring budget versus actual labor hours and communicating with the superintendent.
  • Support and ensure adherence to company SOPs, including purchase orders and change orders.
  • Demonstrate timeliness in job arrival, attendance, communication with supervisors, and paperwork.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and respond to feedback for improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain quality control to reduce the need for return trips and warranty work.
  • Maintain a professional appearance.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally within the department and with internal and external customers.
  • Maintain positive interactions within the team and local office.
  • Actively participate in required team meetings.

Requirements

  • Ability to work overtime, out of town, or on-call as needed.
  • Basic Math and Reading skills.
  • Minimum of five (5) years relevant work experience.
  • Fire Sprinkler installation experience.
  • Experience cutting steel pipe for new construction or remodel projects.
  • Ability to take direction from upper management.
  • Must have a valid state driver's license and good driving record.
  • Demonstrate ability to accurately read measurements from tape or scales.
