About the Role
This 12-month contract role is for an experienced Network Engineer to support a broad program of network infrastructure upgrades, migrations, documentation, and operational improvements. The role involves close collaboration with various internal teams to modernize network environments and improve their reliability and supportability. The successful candidate will be comfortable with both hands-on implementation and infrastructure assessment, including switching and firewall upgrades, network re-IP activities, core network services, and documentation.
Responsibilities
- Support a broad program of network infrastructure upgrades, migrations, documentation, and operational improvements.
- Work closely with internal Network Engineering, Security, IT, Facilities, Workplace, Builds and Infrastructure teams to modernize existing network environments.
- Improve network reliability, supportability, and documentation.
- Support switching and firewall upgrades.
- Perform network re-IP activities.
- Support core network services.
- Implement rack and cabling improvements.
- Conduct infrastructure inventory.
- Manage documentation.
- Integrate monitoring solutions.
- Independently assess existing environments.
- Identify infrastructure gaps.
- Coordinate with stakeholders and vendors.
- Carry work through to completion.
Requirements
- Approximately 5 or more years of professional experience in network engineering, network operations, or infrastructure engineering.
- Demonstrated experience supporting enterprise routing and switching environments.
- Experience participating in network upgrades, migrations, or re-IP projects.
- Experience troubleshooting network and firewall connectivity issues.
- Experience working with physical network infrastructure, racks, cabling, and power systems.
- Experience coordinating technical work across internal teams and external vendors.
- Ability to independently manage assigned tasks and communicate progress.
