About the Role
As a Dance Performer for Fright Fest, you will deliver a thrilling and immersive experience for guests by embodying various characters in live performances and engaging in scare zones. Your main responsibilities include performing in a scripted dance production on the mainstage twice nightly and participating in choreographed dance performances throughout the midways, maintaining high energy and excitement throughout the evening.
Responsibilities
- Perform in a scripted dance production on the mainstage twice nightly.
- Participate in choreographed dance performances throughout the midways.
- Provide a thrilling experience for guests by portraying various role(s) in live performances.
- Scare and interact with guests in scare zones or attractions.
- Learn, rehearse, and memorize scripts and choreography.
- Perform in daytime and evening shows during operating hours.
- Attend all scheduled rehearsals.
- Safely scare guests while maintaining the setting and atmosphere.
- Wear and maintain costumes, stage makeup/prosthetics, and utilize props.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of attraction, zone, or performance venue.
- Energetically interact with guests and remain in character for the duration of the shift.
- Memorize necessary dialogue, safety spiels, emergency exit plans, safety operating procedures, and park guidelines.
- Comply with all company and safety guidelines.
- Maintain costume character standards.
- Maintain character costumes including general cleaning and daily maintenance.
- Maintain and clean show venues, backstage areas, and dressing rooms.
- Maintain all guidelines outlined in department and character training.
- Perform duties in any department when necessary.
- Be an active team member of the Operations Division and the Entertainment Department.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for guests and team members.
- Follow all delegated tasks assigned by Entertainment Supervisor or as stated in SOPs.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must have a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Must take direction from the choreographer/supervisor.
- Must be available for training and/or rehearsals prior to the beginning of Fright Fest.
- Must be available for Saturday & Sunday performances.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, late nights, and some weekday evenings.
- Must be able to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time.
- Must be able to work both indoors and outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
- Must be able to work in natural and artificial lighting including Strobes, Fog, Haze, and other technical/special effects.
- Must be alert, attentive, observant, and assertive as needed in a fast-paced, multi-functional position.
- Must be willing and able to interact with guests on an individual level as well as large groups of all ages.
- Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, climb stairs, bend, stoop, reach, twist, sit and lift up to 40 lbs.
- Must possess the mental and physical capacities to perform essential job duties.
- Should be a self-starter and able to take direction.
- Maintain all SFGE policies and Department Safety Standards.
- Comply with all company and safety guidelines as listed in the employee handbook.
