About the Role
VIZ Media is seeking a temporary Staff Accountant, Revenue to support the Finance department for a 6-month period. This role is crucial for ensuring accurate revenue capture and recognition in compliance with US GAAP, handling revenue accounting, billing, and collections for assigned business units.
Responsibilities
- Process customer payments received through bank wire, ACH, and checks
- Process invoices timely and accurately in accordance with agreements and sub-licensing reports
- Prepare transaction data for recording in the accounting system
- Collect monthly and quarterly reports from sub-licensees to compute and record licensing revenue
- Track past due invoices and work with customers and internal teams to collect past due payments
- Handle ad-hoc projects as assigned
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience with Billing or Revenue, processing a large amount of data
- Basic GAAP accounting knowledge
- Experience in reviewing contractual agreements for financial terms required
- Financial ERP systems experience
- Ability to maintain a great attention to detail when working with large amounts of data
- Ability to take the lead, work independently, manage requests, and support billing for multiple individuals and teams
- Ability to prioritize and balance multiple projects simultaneously
- Applicants should be willing to work with content that may include sexually explicit images, nudity, and graphic violence.
Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including familiarity with formulas and pivot tables
- Experience with Oracle E-Business Suite is a strong plus
