About the Role
Active Dynamics is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join their Toronto team. This role is responsible for developing and reviewing manufacturing processes, procedures, and equipment for exhaust systems, working collaboratively with a cross-functional team to develop solutions for customer issues and problems.
Responsibilities
- Develop new processes and procedures to ensure smooth transition into Production.
- Provide engineering support to Production in areas such as packaging, metal cutting, tube bending, MIG and resistance welding, and rolling.
- Develop new manufacturing processes and equipment to improve efficiency and cost structure.
- Work directly with cross-functional teams to understand and develop solutions for customer issues and problems.
- Lead CI activities.
- Support the development of cost estimates for quoting purposes.
- Lead cross-functional teams in the development of continuous improvement activities for existing and new products.
- Lead 5S and Lean manufacturing activities.
- Provide engineering support in the commissioning and validation of new equipment.
- Review product design to ensure compliance with internal DFM/A rules.
- Work with the product design team in the development of DFM/A design rules.
- Participate in strategic discussions for new process product road map development.
- Participate in cross-functional design reviews and feasibility analysis.
- Communicate and coordinate with all other departments and vendors.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 10 years of experience in Manufacturing.
- Experience with metal stamping, Arc Welding, Resistance Welding, and tube forming.
- Good understanding and knowledge in MRP systems is preferred.
- Good understanding and experience in packaging.
- Strong understanding of welding and metal forming processes.
- Experience with process optimization and cost reduction methodologies.
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and prioritization skills.
- Must be eligible to work in Canada.
