About the Role
This role is integral to Standard Bots' goal of achieving scalable, high-volume production of industrial robots by establishing program management infrastructure. It involves transforming ambiguous, high-stakes mandates into structured programs with direct CEO visibility, operating at the intersection of manufacturing, corporate strategy, and program execution.
Responsibilities
- Establish programs by transforming strategic mandates into organized work-streams, assigning owners, setting milestones, and creating budgets.
- Design the operating system that supports program efforts.
- Build decision-grade plans by defining requirements, performing options analysis, creating cost models, and developing costed, sequenced recommendations.
- Own execution by driving work-streams to completion, managing schedule and budget, handling dependencies, and clearing blockers.
- Manage stakeholders and partners by coordinating internal functions and external partners, scoping engagements, and holding them to budget and deadlines.
- Quantify decisions by building and owning financial models, including make-vs-buy, CapEx, breakeven, and unit economics.
- Drive to decisions by synthesizing work into executive-grade readouts and facilitating timely leadership decisions.
Requirements
- 7+ years leading cross-functional programs to executive decisions in manufacturing/operations, corporate strategy or BizOps at a hardware company, or management consulting with genuine industrial exposure.
- Demonstrated ownership of a complex, ambiguous effort driven from strategy through to an executable plan.
- Financial-modeling fluency including breakeven, CapEx, unit economics, and M&A literacy (EBITDA multiples) to own and pressure-test a make-vs-buy model.
- Executive communication skills, including structured written synthesis and board-quality presentations.
- Vendor and consultant management experience, including scoping and holding external partners to budget and deadline.
- Comfort operating without a playbook, at startup pace, with direct executive exposure.
- Prior make-vs-buy, re-shoring, capacity-expansion, or M&A-evaluation experience.
- Working literacy across manufacturing processes (machining, sheet metal, finishing, casting).
- Experience standing up a shop, plant, or lab from scratch.
- Robotics or precision-hardware background.
- PMP or equivalent certification.
- Experience working with Long Island/NY-metro manufacturing organizations.
