About the Role
This role is for a digitally native, culturally curious individual passionate about sports and related brands. As Account Manager, you will lead day-to-day consumer accounts in sports betting, gaming, men's lifestyle, fashion retail, and food/drink. You will manage client relationships, oversee social media, and collaborate on creative campaigns to build audiences and drive results. This is an opportunity to grow your skills across new sectors and take on increasing responsibility within a growing team.
Responsibilities
- Develop and cultivate relationships with clients and external audiences.
- Oversee day-to-day client projects and/or events to ensure quality and value.
- Assist in managing account administration duties such as billing and financial reporting.
- Recommend and implement initiatives to improve public perception of the client.
- Oversee all aspects of major client events.
- Handle special media inquiries.
- Review materials prepared by junior staff.
- Develop tailored staff development plans for junior staff.
- Develop materials on complex issues.
- Develop, pitch, and place positive stories in appropriate media.
- Cultivate positive client presence in all media through responsiveness.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication between the client and account team, providing strategic advice.
- Partner with clients and other communications firms to develop and complete communications plans.
- Research and present new business proposals.
- Develop original research, surveys, and market studies for proposals.
- Develop complete communications plans for clients.
Requirements
- Extensive professional experience with a minimum of 3 years of agency/PR experience.
- Technical expertise in the field.
- Broad understanding of public relations.
- Broad understanding of industry practice and client.
- In-depth knowledge of media relations from key trade publications to national outlets.
- University degree.
