About the Role
SUNY Sullivan is seeking an adjunct faculty member to teach General Chemistry lecture and laboratory sections on campus. Preference is given to candidates who support the community college philosophy and a culture of belonging.
Responsibilities
- Teach up to 14 contact hours of general chemistry courses, and potentially additional courses related to the applicant's expertise.
- Demonstrate excellence in teaching and interact effectively with a diverse student and employee population.
- Hold appropriate office hours.
- Participate in student advising/mentoring, curriculum development, student recruitment, and attend division and faculty meetings as needed.
Requirements
- Master's degree in chemistry or related sciences.
- At least three (3) years of teaching or equivalent experience.
- Experience working in a higher education environment is preferred.
Skills
- Teaching General Chemistry lecture and laboratory sections.
- Interacting with diverse student and employee populations.
- Teaching philosophy development.
