About the Role
Lead, develop, and inspire a team of eight Sales Engineers in Japan, ensuring world-class pre-sales support to the sales team and partners. Focus on establishing Axis as a "Trusted Advisor" in the market, optimizing the technical sales cycle, and ensuring seamless expertise transfer to the ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Manage, inspire, and develop a high-performing team of 8 Sales Engineers, shifting focus to long-term talent development.
- Drive the strategy for technical sales support, aligning SE resources with high-priority business opportunities.
- Orchestrate the national strategy for technical competence development and expertise transfer to partners and the internal team.
- Act as the primary technical liaison between the Japan sales organization and Global/APAC technical leadership.
- Oversee the integrity of system designs and technical proposals, establishing standards for PoCs, shootouts, and solution testing.
- Provide strategic oversight of the Japan Solution Labs and demonstration facilities, transforming them into centers of innovation.
- Embody Axis Core Values and ensure the technical organization operates with an "Act as one" mindset.
Requirements
- Proven experience in mentoring and upskilling Pre-Sales or Sales Engineering teams.
- Ability to coach team members on effectively communicating complex technical value propositions.
- Demonstrated track record of partnering with KAM and AM teams to drive business growth.
- Experience in developing joint account strategies with sales leaders.
- Deep understanding of bridging technical feasibility and commercial requirements.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook).
- Native level Japanese or JLPT N1 certification required.
- TOEIC score of 730 or above is preferred.
- Ability to demonstrate and provide specific evidence of Core Values.
