About the Role
The Production Manager provides leadership to assure production needs are met while following proper safety and quality standards. This role reports directly to the Operations Manager and supervises department technicians.
Responsibilities
- Provides oversight and leadership to Manufacturing and Packaging production teams.
- Manages and approves all final timecards and PTO requests for the shift.
- Communicates short- and long-term plans and goals with Union staff.
- Provides input to department goals, including business plans and staffing needs.
- Provides leadership and guidance to Maintenance Technicians.
- Sets priorities and direction consistent with the Business Plan and Quality Policy.
- Ensures compliance, coaching, and assistance with SOPs, cGMPs, safety, and company policies.
- Guides, monitors, and develops the team to foster continuous improvement.
- Sets realistic objectives and clearly assigns accountability and responsibility.
- Oversees investigations using system-driven resolutions and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Enforces and drives high Operational standards (Safety, Quality, cGMPs, DEA).
- Sets standards and continuously monitors performance, implementing action plans for improvement.
- Analyzes trends and Metrics data to establish targeted improvement projects.
- Interfaces effectively with Management, Quality, Support, Research, Technology, Facilities Maintenance, Supply Chain, Customers, Contractors, Visitors, and Auditors.
- Ensures the safety of staff by practicing and enforcing safe practices and procedures.
- Partners with Safety to investigate incidents, determine root cause, and implement solutions and CAPAs.
- Audits and enforces housekeeping, cGMP, and safety practices.
- Ensures operations are in compliance with regulatory agency standards.
- Supports outside agency and customer quality audits.
- Participates in the recruitment, selection, promotion, and management of staff.
- Effectively manages employee performance, input, and provides guidance in setting goals.
- Actively supports teams in successful planning and implementation of targeted objectives.
- Ensures required training is carried out and in line with Operations’ needs.
- Sets priorities and direction consistent with the Union Contract.
- Leads problem-solving and participates in Labor Relations issues when necessary.
- Displays and supports a positive relationship with Union Leadership and their members.
- Reviews and approves documents such as deviation reports, purchase requisitions, and batch record formulations.
- Determines required technical training and champions resources for specific training plans.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years experience in a manufacturing/packaging environment.
- 3 years of production leadership experience.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including successful track record of completing deliverables on schedule and on budget.
- Demonstrated experience in managing people.
- Proven ability to apply standards, hold others accountable, and set a strategy to deliver business objectives.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to effectively prioritize work assignments, meet commitments, and deadlines.

Experience Level

Salary/Compensations
- $85,000-$95,000
