About the Role
As a Commis Chef, you’ll work closely with the Chef de Cuisine in a fast-paced, hands-on environment that values precision, creativity, and a strong focus on safety and quality. Your role will be pivotal to the success of Fat Noodle Kitchen at The Star Sydney.
Responsibilities
- Support or lead the assigned section as directed by the Chef De Cuisine and provide training to junior staff members
- Assist with fundamental cooking and food preparation tasks
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment and workstations
- Complete all duties in line with company and statutory hygiene requirements
- Meet requirements for consistency and high quality in a fast-paced environment
Requirements
- Culinary School Graduate. Received apprenticeship training in commercial cookery and hold a Certificate III
- Experience with Asian cuisines desirable
- Must have experience with Wok cooking
- Proficiency with diverse food preparation techniques and cooking equipment
- Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including overnight shifts is a must
- Eligibility checks are required as part of the recruitment process and ongoing employment for this position
