About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Manager for the Survey/Geomatics group to lead and scale the team for diverse projects, employing data-driven technologies to ensure high-quality deliverables for our client.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and directs service line strategies and initiatives that support VHB’s strategic plan and regional business planning/strategic pursuits.
  • Aligns service offerings to VHB’s market requirements.
  • Collaborates with regional leadership to identify and provide new services or skills.
  • Develops growth plans and identifies market opportunities and strategies.
  • Monitors and maintains the financial performance of the Survey/Geomatics group.
  • Promotes the awareness of available technologies within the Survey/Geomatics team.
  • Identifies and deploys leading-edge work processes, technologies, and applications to execute projects more effectively.
  • Develops client solutions benefitting from advancements and applications of data and technologies.
  • Works with leadership groups to develop and implement consistent work processes and standards.
  • Works with discipline groups to develop and implement quality plans.
  • Reviews client and quality audit feedback and develops plans to implement best practices across the region.
  • Creates project plans, identifies, and organizes resources, and successfully executes projects to completion.
  • Develops, monitors, and maintains project budgets, scopes, and schedules.
  • Promotes work sharing across offices and advises on the deployment of staff on major projects and pursuits.
  • Manages a team of Survey/Geomatics professionals, including hiring, training, assigning work, evaluating performance, and addressing problems.
  • Participates in professional and personal development aligned with career goals.
  • Performs all job functions in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations and VHB policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience managing Survey/Geomatics projects.
  • 5+ years of client/staff/project management experience.
  • BS in Survey Engineering, Geomatics, Geographic Information Systems, Engineering, Reality Capture, or related field.
  • Professional Land Surveyor license preferred.

Skills

  • Excellent management skills with an emphasis on performance recognition and development.
  • Ability to strategically identify and implement innovative ideas that add value.
  • Proficient in a broad array of technical skills with professional mastery.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Team oriented with ability to perform multiple tasks independently and collaborate effectively.
  • Self-motivated, highly organized, and detail oriented.
  • Skills and knowledge must be commensurate with required experience and job level.

  • $160,000-180,000
