About the Role

As a Switchgear Field Service Engineer, you will deliver expert on-site support for ABB customers by maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing LV/MV switchgear systems. You will ensure high-quality service execution, strengthen customer relationships, and contribute to operational improvements that enhance safety, reliability, and performance.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute field service work on switchgear and related equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment and process failures.
• Recommend corrective and preventive actions to ensure first-time resolution.
• Collaborate with customers on-site to identify operational improvement opportunities.
• Prepare service documentation, reports, and material lists.
• Ensure all service activities meet quality and safety standards.
• Coach and guide Associate Technicians and Associate Engineers.
• Support training for colleagues and customers.

Requirements

• Electrical engineering degree or equivalent relevant experience in power systems, electrical distribution, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in field service, switchgear maintenance, power distribution equipment, or industrial electrical systems.
• Ability to work safely and apply risk assessment procedures.
• Full UK driving license.
