About the Role
As a Switchgear Field Service Engineer, you will deliver expert on-site support for ABB customers by maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing LV/MV switchgear systems. You will ensure high-quality service execution, strengthen customer relationships, and contribute to operational improvements that enhance safety, reliability, and performance.
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute field service work on switchgear and related equipment.
- Troubleshoot equipment and process failures.
- Recommend corrective and preventive actions to ensure first-time resolution.
- Collaborate with customers on-site to identify operational improvement opportunities.
- Prepare service documentation, reports, and material lists.
- Ensure all service activities meet quality and safety standards.
- Coach and guide Associate Technicians and Associate Engineers.
- Support training for colleagues and customers.
Requirements
- Electrical engineering degree or equivalent relevant experience in power systems, electrical distribution, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in field service, switchgear maintenance, power distribution equipment, or industrial electrical systems.
- Ability to work safely and apply risk assessment procedures.
- Full UK driving license.
