About the Role
As an Electromechanical Engineer, you will provide technical support for Qualitrol's manufacturing operations by supporting production equipment, automation systems, and continuous improvement initiatives. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams on projects to improve equipment performance, optimize manufacturing processes, support new product introductions, and enhance safety, productivity, quality, and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex manufacturing equipment and automation systems.
- Design, develop, and implement improvements to manufacturing processes, machinery, tooling, and production equipment.
- Support capital equipment projects, including specification development, vendor management, installation, commissioning, and startup activities.
- Collaborate with production, maintenance, quality, and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability and manufacturing performance.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and cost reduction.
- Develop and maintain equipment standards, technical documentation, preventive maintenance strategies, and engineering procedures.
- Analyze equipment performance data and identify opportunities to improve uptime, throughput, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Support automation and controls projects involving PLCs, sensors, motion control systems, robotics, and industrial networks.
- Conduct risk assessments, failure analyses, and corrective action investigations to improve system reliability.
- Work with external suppliers, contractors, and equipment manufacturers to support facility and production improvements.
- Support and collaborate with engineers, technicians, and maintenance personnel.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- 5+ years of engineering experience supporting manufacturing operations, industrial automation, or production equipment.
- Strong understanding of electromechanical systems, industrial controls, motors, sensors, actuators, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
- Experience with PLC-based automation systems and manufacturing equipment troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of reliability engineering, preventive maintenance, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience managing capital projects and working with equipment vendors and contractors.
- Proficiency in CAD software and technical documentation development.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and manufacturing performance metrics.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, project coordination, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Experience applying AI tools (such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, or other AI-assisted engineering solutions) to improve productivity, problem-solving, and engineering workflows.
- Demonstrated willingness to continuously learn, adopt, and integrate emerging AI technologies into daily work.
