About the Role

HSBC Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB) is seeking a Director to manage a portfolio of Corporate Banking clients and attract new clients. This senior relationship manager role requires demonstrated leadership skills, strong knowledge of the Sydney market, and offers opportunities for advancement.

Responsibilities

  • Develop effective strategies to manage client relationships, anticipate client needs, and provide superior service.
  • Identify opportunities for referrals to other product partners based on client needs and risk appetite.
  • Grow sustainable revenues through targeted acquisition of new Corporate Banking customers, focusing on international client acquisition.
  • Structure credit facilities to balance customer and HSBC interests within prudent banking limits.
  • Maintain knowledge of external factors influencing international business.
  • Ensure timely and accurate maintenance of deal and customer information on Group systems.
  • Establish a network with key players in the origination space and promote HSBC in the marketplace.
  • Provide ‘thought leadership’ content.

Requirements

  • Significant experience in Corporate Banking with a proven track record in corporate client management and new business acquisition.
  • Deep market knowledge of the Australian corporate banking space and network.
  • Strong knowledge of product solutions, including trade and receivables finance and transactional banking.
  • Ability to manage clients effectively on a global basis, with experience managing complex international clients.
  • Genuine customer service focus to build strong and lasting relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Desire and demonstrated ability to consistently meet and exceed customer expectations.
  • In-depth analytical skills with a strong commercial orientation.
  • Disciplined approach to maintaining credit quality.
  • Strong non-financial risk awareness, including ability to identify, assess, and mitigate risks.
  • Adherence to mandatory policies and procedures.
  • Experience managing clients in the food and beverage sector is preferred but not mandatory.
  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline.
  • Preference for candidates with Australian or New Zealand PR/Citizenship, or unrestricted work rights in Australia.
