About the Role

This hands-on role involves managing day-to-day IT operations, ensuring technology runs smoothly for staff, coordinating with a managed service provider (MSP), and resolving operational issues. It spans support, devices, telephony, meeting room technology, network coordination, onboarding, and process improvement across all offices, aiming to bring structure and consistency to IT support and elevate service standards.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate MSP ticket management, including triaging, assigning, following up, and escalating support tickets.
  • Analyze ticket volumes and trends to identify recurring issues and drive permanent fixes.
  • Hold the MSP accountable to service levels and escalate recurring problems or vendor risk.
  • Act as the first point of contact for staff technology issues, resolving directly or coordinating through the MSP.
  • Provide prompt and professional support to senior leaders and staff for priority issues.
  • Manage 3CX phone system issues, including faults, call quality, and new user setup.
  • Own the phone system onboarding process for new starters.
  • Manage the full device lifecycle: procurement, configuration, distribution, repairs, warranty claims, returns, and decommissioning.
  • Coordinate new starter and departing staff device provisioning, ensuring critical setups are tested.
  • Own the IT onboarding and offboarding process, including systems and access checklists.
  • Coordinate access requests, permissions, and license changes.
  • Coordinate the rollout of new software and updates, including user communications and support.
  • Manage software license assignments and changes, monitor usage, and reclaim unused licenses.
  • Own boardroom and meeting room technology, ensuring seamless operation.
  • Diagnose and resolve AV issues, coordinating specialist vendors as needed.
  • Oversee network uplift across all sites with the MSP, including firewalls, switching, wireless, and connectivity.
  • Coordinate site assessments, cabling, hardware refresh, server rack tidy-up, and bandwidth upgrades.
  • Deliver practical end-user training and quick reference guidance.
  • Build how-to material and support adoption of Microsoft 365, Copilot, and core applications.
  • Define and document repeatable technology processes for consistent support.
  • Identify and drive operational improvements to reduce manual effort and recurring issues.
  • Support endpoint and device compliance, patching, and security baselines.
  • Coordinate and assist in administering Azure resources, including resource groups, RBAC, Key Vault, and service accounts.
  • Support the administration of Microsoft Purview, DLP, and the security stack, working with the MSP on remediation and monitoring.
  • Support Power Platform tenant settings, licensing, and environments, including Dataverse and Power Automate governance.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 to 5 years in an IT systems administration, cloud administration, or senior IT support role, ideally in financial or professional services.
  • Demonstrable hands-on experience administering Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Entra ID (identity, conditional access, security groups).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure administration: subscriptions, resource groups, RBAC, Key Vault, and app registrations.
  • Experience administering or coordinating endpoint management and security tooling (e.g., Defender, Purview, EDR/ITDR).
  • Exposure to network infrastructure and next-generation firewalls.
  • Experience coordinating multi-site rollouts.
  • Familiarity with Power Platform administration (Dataverse, Power Automate, custom connectors, and DLP).
  • Understanding of a modern data and reporting ecosystem (Power BI, and awareness of Snowflake or Microsoft Fabric) is an advantage.
