About the Role

As the new Dangerous Goods & Transportation Compliance Specialist, you will shape the dangerous goods and transport compliance in Europe. You will establish best practices, identify compliance risks and potentials, and develop a scalable strategy to ensure the long-term success of our European sites. This role contributes to the safe and compliant global transportation of our products and the protection of water quality.

Responsibilities

  • You are responsible for implementing the requirements of the EU PIC Regulation (EC No. 649/2012) and ensuring compliance with all relevant chemical and dangerous goods regulations.
  • You create and process export notifications and explicit consent applications in the ECHA ePIC system and manage the associated RINs.
  • You review Safety Data Sheets (SDS), evaluate CLP classifications, and monitor regulatory changes.
  • You ensure compliance with dangerous goods regulations (ADR, RID, ADN, IMDG, IATA) and check packaging, labeling, and documentation requirements.
  • You prepare legally required reports, conduct internal audits, and derive improvement measures.
  • You support specialist departments with regulatory questions and actively contribute to process optimization, identifying improvement potential and implementing sustainable solutions in our European business units.
  • You develop and conduct training programs on Dangerous Goods, Transport Compliance, and Hazmat.
  • You work closely with teams from Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, Regulatory Affairs, and Trade Compliance across Europe.

Requirements

  • Completed university degree with sound knowledge of chemical and dangerous goods law.
  • Experience with the EU PIC Regulation and ideally the ECHA ePIC system.
  • Good knowledge of relevant dangerous goods regulations (ADR, RID, ADN, IMDG, and/or IATA).
  • Analytical thinking and a structured, self-driven way of working.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and drive compliance initiatives without direct authority.
  • Strong consulting mindset and ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical business solutions.
  • Strong communication skills and enjoyment of collaborating with different business functions.
  • Very good German and good English language skills.
