About the Role
PayPal Data Services, Inc., a subsidiary of PayPal, Inc., seeks a Sr Software Engineer to design and develop services, oversee automation, and lead Agile SDLC execution. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders, conducting code reviews, defining technical standards, and mentoring junior engineers. The position also focuses on driving CI/CD automation, security, reliability, and integrating AI solutions to enhance software development and system reliability.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop services applying advanced design patterns and architectural best practices.
- Oversee automation coverage and continuous integration pipelines across projects to enhance delivery efficiency.
- Collaborate with architects, product managers, and stakeholders to deliver integrated technical solutions.
- Lead Agile SDLC execution and coordinate end-to-end feature delivery across teams.
- Conduct and lead peer design and code reviews, ensuring adherence to PayPal engineering standards.
- Define technical standards, design patterns, and code-review practices for the team.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers; review designs, provide feedback, and lead technical discussions.
- Drive CI/CD automation, security hardening, and reliability engineering efforts across systems.
- Integrate agentic AI solutions to enhance software development efficiency, automate workflows, and improve system reliability.
- Architect and design large-scale, distributed systems ensuring scalability, performance, and high availability.
- Lead performance optimization, observability, and incident-response processes across services.
- Partner with product and architecture leaders to define technical roadmaps and long-term engineering strategies.
Requirements
- Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field, plus three (3) years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
