About the Role

PayPal, Inc. seeks a Sr. Software Engineer to design and build software applications, participating in the full development life cycle. This role involves creating web applications, partnering with design and product teams, and delivering software in an agile environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build software applications.
  • Participate in the full development life cycle, including design, coding, testing, and production release.
  • Create web applications following best practices of accessibility, internationalization, TDD.
  • Partner closely with software design and products to craft great product experiences.
  • Encourage software code craftsmanship across the team.
  • Deliver software code in an agile team environment and drive innovation through rapid prototyping and iterative development.
  • Develop robust and scalable software systems.
  • Design and develop software for distributed systems with high performance, scalability, and availability requirements.
  • Define and devise processes, tools, and methodologies to achieve excellence in software development, testing, and deployment.
  • Work with cross-functional groups and achieve results in a matrix organization.
  • Work on different flows with quick context switching and debug complicated software applications with relative ease.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field, plus two years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
  • Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field, plus five years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Skills

  • Object-oriented programming in Java technical stack
  • Designing, developing, and delivering high-performance and scalable software platforms
  • Building a scalable, production-grade API based platform
  • Web front-end technologies
  • Client-side frameworks, including React, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS
  • Developing and executing automated unit, functional, and integration tests
  • RESTful APIs
  • Test frameworks such as Junit, Mockito, TestNG, or Easy Mock
  • Agile methodology, Continuous deployments (CI/CD), and monitoring application performance
  • AWS services, including IAM for Identity management, SQS for message queue, and S3 for Storage buckets

Salary/Compensations

  • $163,550.00-221,500.00 per annum
