About the Role

This role will deliver a broad range of risk management activities for Beazley’s US and Bermuda entities, focusing on operational risks. Responsibilities include producing risk reports and analysis, providing review and challenge of first-line processes, performing deep-dive reviews, and supporting the wider risk management framework. The role is ideal for an ERM professional with significant risk management experience, preferably in specialty insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide challenge of the first line processes for Beazley’s US and Bermuda entities around operational risk, including regulatory, underwriting, claims, finance, procurement, and IT risks as well as operational components of other risk groups including insurance risk.
  • Produce risk reporting and opinions, including deep-dive reviews on key risks, hot topics and any risk incidents influencing Beazley’s risk profile, to support reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the delivery of the Own Risk and Solvency Assessment for Beazley’s US and Bermuda entities, particularly those sections relating to insurance and financial risk.
  • Support with the development of the wider risk management framework.
  • Maintain strong stakeholder relationships with members of the first line, to help support Beazley’s risk management framework.
  • Collaborate closely with the Global risk team.

Requirements

  • Experience working as an ERM professional with a focus on enterprise and operational risk within specialty insurance.
  • Experience of providing risk challenge to the first line and producing and presenting risk analysis to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Methodical approach to problem solving, with a high attention to detail.
  • Ability to act pragmatically in the face of new challenges and exercise sound judgements based on overall business needs.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication skills, and ability to tailor communication to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to prepare comprehensive well written reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven project management and organisational skills with track record of delivering projects to strict deadlines.
  • Results oriented, with the energy and determination to succeed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in using Microsoft Office.
  • Experience of providing challenge across any of the following areas would be an advantage: Operational risk within Finance, Insurance, IT, and wider Operations teams.
  • Interest in gaining a deeper understanding of insurance and financial risk management in the Lloyd's / London Market.

Salary/Compensations

  • $200,000-$215,000 per year plus discretionary annual bonus
