About the Role
Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join our growing Bridges & Structure’s team in Rochester, NY. Our bridge experts partner with clients to understand project objectives, formulating solutions that are safe, efficient, economical, and environmentally sensitive. This team offers a full range of bridge services from scoping and planning through final design for small to large scale bridges.
Responsibilities
- Lead the technical design and assigned staff on bridge projects.
- Develop work plans for bridge designs while coordinating with other disciplines.
- Perform cost estimating, develop specifications/construction documents, and lead construction phase support tasks.
- Assist in the mentoring and development of design staff.
- Participate in the development and updates of internal standards of practices.
- Perform quality control and assurance checks on design computations, computer modeling, CAD drawings, reports, estimates and specifications.
- Serve as a point of contact for clients, other design professionals, and contractors.
- Act as quality coordinator for discipline led projects.
- Assist in the development of technical narratives, scope and fee for project pursuits.
- May serve on professional association committees.
- May stamp/sign drawings or reports and/or serve as Engineer of Record for the project.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering is required.
- 8+ years of professional design engineering work related to bridges or structures is required.
- PE license is required in New York State (or through reciprocity).
- Strong work ethic and willingness for continued learning.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
Skills
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil3D and/or MicroStation is a plus.
- Knowledge of NYSDOT, AASHTO and AREMA design codes a plus.

Salary/Compensations
- $91,105 to $124,400 per year (Depending on Qualifications)
