About the Role
We are seeking a Residential HVAC Service Manager to lead our growing service department. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact by mentoring technicians, improving service performance, and contributing to the growth of a premier residential HVAC company in the Austin area. The ideal candidate is passionate about coaching people, improving processes, and creating an outstanding customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of residential HVAC Service Technicians.
- Oversee daily service department operations, including scheduling, dispatch coordination, technician productivity, and workflow.
- Monitor and improve key performance indicators including revenue, average ticket, maintenance agreements, callback rates, customer satisfaction, and technician efficiency.
- Conduct ride-alongs to provide technical coaching, sales development, and field training.
- Support technicians with complex diagnostics, troubleshooting, and customer concerns.
- Ensure compliance with EPA regulations, safety standards, company policies, and industry best practices.
- Recruit, interview, onboard, and develop top HVAC talent.
- Partner with the installation, sales, and customer service teams to deliver an exceptional homeowner experience.
- Create a culture focused on accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement, and professional development.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, inventory management, and departmental planning.
Requirements
- 5+ years of residential HVAC service experience.
- Previous experience leading, supervising, or mentoring HVAC technicians.
- Strong technical knowledge of residential HVAC systems.
- Proven ability to motivate teams and improve performance.
- Experience managing KPIs and driving operational results.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- EPA Certification required.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Experience managing a growing residential service department.
- Knowledge of ServiceTitan or similar field service management software.
- NATE Certification or additional HVAC certifications are a plus.
- Experience with technician sales coaching and maintenance agreement growth.
