About the Role
The Legal Practice Assistant provides administrative and substantive legal support to the Legacy Liability Litigation practice group. As part of the ML LawPath® program, this role offers a unique learning opportunity through practical experience and direct engagement with case teams, emphasizing collaboration and superior client service.
Responsibilities
- Manage, organize, and maintain case and client files.
- Manage case and client information using internal and external electronic databases.
- Coordinate and prepare information, materials, documents, reports, and evidence.
- Draft, proofread, edit, and gather factual support for internal and external requests.
- Support the development and management of case and practice group timelines.
- Participate in research and analysis for mass tort matters.
- Conduct research and fact investigations for internal and external requests.
- Coordinate communication and planning across attorney teams.
- Assist attorneys and paralegals with the preparation and review of pleadings, discovery, and document production materials.
- Distribute draft documents to attorneys and team paralegals.
- Participate in fact investigation and research into publicly available documents.
- Provide administrative support including document production, expense processing, and vendor invoice management.
- Draft and prepare meeting minutes.
- Participate in supervised client communications.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Commitment of two years.
