About the Role
The Marketing and Project Manager provides strategic, operational, and administrative leadership for the Center for Asia Pacific Studies, focusing on planning, marketing, and executing academic and public programs and events, overseeing communications, and supporting fundraising efforts.
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement academic and public programs and events in collaboration with the Director.
- Develop and implement marketing plans and budgets to promote programs and events.
- Oversee the design, production, and distribution of print and digital materials, media releases, and social media content.
- Communicate with event speakers, university personnel, and faculty professionally.
- Support the administration of scholarship, fellowship, and internship programs.
- Create and maintain master project documents, punch lists, calendars, and operational workflows.
- Produce the Center’s annual impact report and fundraising-related materials.
- Manage and update social media platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook).
- Monitor and analyze program participation, marketing, and event metrics.
- Maintain event listings on the Center's website, University calendar, and newsletter.
- Develop written content for the Center's website, blog, newsletters, and other channels.
- Track program budgets and expenditures, and support operational and administrative processes.
- Supervise student assistants or temporary support staff as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, public administration, non-profit management, or a related field.
- Minimum of three years of professional experience in higher education, nonprofit, communications, or related fields.
- Demonstrated experience in event management, student program administration, conference organization, and marketing and communications.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, including social media proficiency.
- Strong organizational judgment, discretion, and ability to work independently.
- Strong analytical skills and experience with assessment data tracking and report development.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- Familiarity with tools such as Canva, Smartsheet, Tableau, Adobe Creative Suite, and content management systems.
- Ability to identify resources, solve problems, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and take initiative.
- Ability to attend evening or weekend events on occasion.
- Experience working with people of diverse/multicultural backgrounds, or in student services with a diverse graduate population.
- Understanding and commitment to USF’s mission, vision, and values.
- Positive mindset and ability to work well with a team.
- Demonstrated interest in fostering cross-cultural understanding and engagement with the Asia Pacific region.
