About the Role

This position supports the Community Cat coordinator and reports to the Program Manager. It involves oversight of volunteer operations for the Community Cat program, assisting with Spay-Neuter-Release (SNR)/Trap-Neuter-Release (TNR) placement pathways, coordinating collaboration with community partners for SNR/TNR operations, and handling administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

• Write informational reports.
• Refer citizens to appropriate agency or program.
• Develop and evaluate plans, criteria, etc. for a variety of projects and program activities.
• Speak as a city representative before public groups.
• Conduct needs assessments.
• Evaluate programs for effectiveness and accomplishment of goals.
• Evaluate needs assessment data to determine course of action.
• Plan and develop survey instruments and methodology.
• Develop and conduct public information and education programs.
• Design visual presentation materials.

Requirements

• Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in a field related to health education, nursing or health related field.
• Two (2) years of experience in a field related to health education.
• Related experience may substitute for education up to a maximum of four (4) years.
• Appropriate certifications as specified for the assignment.
• Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
• Demonstrated experience managing a volunteer program preferred.
• Animal welfare program development and implementation experience preferred.
• Extensive cat handling and care experience in a professional work setting preferred.
• Basic cat wellness and vet care experience in a professional work setting preferred.
• Must provide proof of education which may include official college transcript, High School diploma, GED or equivalent degree and professional licenses upon hire.
• A Criminal Background check (CBI) will be conducted.
• Use of tobacco products and/or e-cigarettes is not permitted on any APH/AAS worksite.
