About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Microsoft 365 Engineer to support and optimize a mature Microsoft 365 environment serving approximately 26,000 users. This role will focus on license management, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Microsoft Copilot, and especially the Power Platform including Power Automate and Power Apps. The engineer will be responsible for implementing Microsoft 365 solutions, automation, integrations, and platform improvements that enhance collaboration, productivity, security, and user experience across the enterprise.
Responsibilities
- Administer and optimize Microsoft 365 including Entra ID, user and group management, and tenant configuration.
- Manage licensing strategy, entitlement governance, and cost optimization.
- Configure and govern SharePoint Online and OneDrive including permissions, site architecture, retention, and external sharing.
- Administer Microsoft Teams collaboration including policies, provisioning, governance, and integrations.
- Manage Microsoft Copilot configuration, licensing, security controls, and responsible use policies.
- Engineer and implement Microsoft 365 platform enhancements that improve scalability, performance, reliability, and security across the enterprise.
- Design and implement Microsoft 365 solutions leveraging SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, Power Platform, and Microsoft Graph to address business requirements.
- Evaluate emerging Microsoft 365 capabilities and lead proof-of-concept initiatives, technical testing, and production deployments.
- Develop and maintain architecture documentation, technical standards, and solution design artifacts for Microsoft 365 services.
- Support Exchange Online configuration as needed.
- Administer and govern Power Platform environments including Power Automate and Power Apps, as well as the configuration and management of Power Platform Environments.
- Design and support enterprise automation and low-code solutions aligned with governance standards.
- Implement environment strategy, data loss prevention policies, and solution lifecycle management.
- Develop automation using PowerShell and related tools to streamline administration.
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise automation frameworks using PowerShell, Microsoft Graph API, Power Automate, and related Microsoft technologies.
- Build and support integrations between Microsoft 365 services and enterprise applications using APIs, connectors, and low-code platforms.
- Implement solution lifecycle management practices including development, testing, deployment, version control, and change management.
- Identify opportunities to reduce manual processes through automation and engineering-driven operational improvements.
- Implement security best practices including conditional access, data loss prevention, retention, and compliance policies.
- Monitor service health, usage, and performance across the tenant.
- Troubleshoot complex Microsoft 365 issues and provide advanced operational support.
- Perform root cause analysis and develop long-term engineering solutions to eliminate recurring operational issues and improve platform stability.
- Maintain documentation, standards, and operational runbooks.
- Partner with IT Operations, Security, and business stakeholders to support enterprise collaboration and productivity services.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience administering Microsoft 365 in a large enterprise environment.
- Demonstrated expertise with SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Teams.
- Deep experience with Power Platform, especially Power Automate and Power Apps.
- Experience managing Microsoft 365 licensing and tenant governance at scale.
- Experience implementing Microsoft Copilot with appropriate security and governance controls.
- Proficiency with PowerShell and administrative automation.
- Experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise-scale Microsoft 365 solutions and platform architecture.
- Experience with Microsoft Graph API, REST APIs, application integrations, and automation engineering.
- Strong understanding of solution lifecycle management, testing methodologies, deployment practices, and operational excellence.
- Ability to translate business requirements into scalable, supportable technical solutions within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 security and compliance capabilities.
- Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
- Experience supporting environments with more than 20,000 users.
- Exchange Online administration experience.
- Experience developing custom integrations and automation solutions using Microsoft Graph, Azure services, or related Microsoft cloud technologies.
- Experience with DevOps practices, source control, CI/CD pipelines, or infrastructure-as-code concepts supporting Microsoft cloud platforms.
