About the Role

We are looking for a Capital Engineer to join our Reliability and Work Execution team in a temporary 14-month position. You will be responsible for the efficient selection and management of distribution line projects and processes, ensuring project management methodology is followed and integrating new technologies into the business.

Responsibilities

  • Working closely with other technical and operational teams to ensure projects are successfully defined, planned, and implemented.
  • Developing tracking procedures for new construction projects and reviewing projects in the field.
  • Developing processes to support the efficient deployment of the capital program.
  • Responsible for personal safety and that of co-workers by observing all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • Membership (or eligibility for membership) with Engineers Nova Scotia.
  • Strong analytical and computer skills, with an aptitude for detailed process analysis.
  • Proficiency with tools and systems used in project planning, tracking, and reporting.
  • Experience in project management and comfort supporting multiple projects through various stages of planning and delivery.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with technical teams, project stakeholders, and operational staff.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Availability to support after-hours emergency service restoration when required.
  • Ability to take ownership and act with integrity while building strong, collaborative relationships.
