About the Role
Glumac, a Tetra Tech company, is expanding its plumbing engineering group in California and seeks an experienced Plumbing Engineer/Designer passionate about sustainable design to lead diverse projects. This role offers opportunities to lead plumbing designs, support construction administration, and grow into a leadership position within the regional plumbing practice.
Responsibilities
- Lead plumbing piping designs and prepare construction documents.
- Perform fixture counts, pipe/equipment sizing, and other plumbing calculations.
- Coordinate with ownership, mechanical, electrical, structural, and architectural teams.
- Support Construction Administration: RFIs, submittal reviews, site visits, and field reports.
- Adhere to QA/QC policies and escalate issues as needed.
- Mentor junior engineers/designers and help grow the local plumbing team.
- Assist with Business Development (BD) opportunities when needed.
Requirements
- 5+ years in consulting, construction, or similar.
- Valid PE license or CPD certification.
- Proficient in Revit (BIM).
- Strong plumbing design experience (commercial, healthcare, process, multifamily residential and/or manufacturing).
- Clear communicator, organized, solution-oriented, able to work independently.
- Local to the region (+/- 30 miles to a Glumac office).
