About the Role
Works under the direction of the RN/Health Coordinator, assisting residents in becoming accustomed to the residence routine and encouraging participation in social and recreational activities to promote recovery.
Responsibilities
- Orients new residents to the facility and helps them adjust to community living without the use of alcohol/drugs.
- Assists with monitoring of the facility to ascertain residents’ activities and general status.
- Initiates appropriate action to ensure the safety and wellbeing of residents and the facility.
- Schedules outside medical appointments as needed.
- Assists with the medical portion of admissions to the facility.
- Monitors residents while receiving MAT treatments in the medical department.
- Checks any identified resident in need of monitoring due to physical and/or emotional difficulties, initiates appropriate action, and documents findings in the clinical log.
- Offers counseling (crisis intervention only) to residents as needed, documents sessions in the staff log, and reports to the supervisor.
- Completes all resident incident/accident or medical emergency forms as required.
- Answers phones.
- Meets regularly with RN/Health Coordinator for supervision as per policy.
- Responsible for additional duties as may be assigned by RN/Health Coordinator.
