About the Role
Individuals in this role provide extraordinary shopping experiences to guests and stock merchandise.
Responsibilities

- Maintain uniform standard, as detailed in the Employee Manual, for all worked hours.
- Know and actively demonstrate superior product knowledge.
- Greet guests and engage in conversation with a smile and a helpful demeanor, remembering that the guest always comes first.
- Recommend merchandise based on the guests needs or desires, with a focus to suggest our in-house brands.
- Answer guests questions concerning price and use of merchandise.
- Create client relationships with regular guests.
- Carry product to register counters and carry out products for guests.
- Run a cash register as business dictates.
- Receive as business dictates.
- Prepare promotional events as necessary.
- Set up displays or arrange merchandise in floor stacks, on counters or tables, to promote sales.
- Front merchandise and rotate stock for freshness and stock shelves with product.
- Maintain neat and orderly sales floor and back stock.
- Clean shelves, bottles, aisles, and tables; look for product not stocked properly to avoid trips and falls.
- Maintain fresh and readable price tags on all products.
- Provide feedback to management regarding fast or slow-moving product, stock levels, out of stocks, and department needs.
- Prepare sales floor and storage areas for inventory and assist in the inventory process if needed.
- Properly use and maintain computers and RF scanner equipment.
- Seek to continually improve related skills and knowledge to contribute to profitability and productivity.
- Avoid conversations with coworkers when guests are present.
- Limit use of personal cell phone to work related activities only while on the sales floor.
- Carry out directives of management efficiently.
- Fulfill responsibilities with care and attention to detail.
- Practice teamwork and cooperation with others.
- Possess time management skills and be able to prioritize tasks.
- Manage stress in a fast-paced environment.
- Work in accordance with all safety regulations of Specs Family Partners and OSHA.
- Constantly stand, lift, carry, walk, and bend, and reach products routinely weighing 50 pounds or more.
- Use arms, hands, and fingers to feel, handle, reach, and lift.
- Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds or more occasionally using proper lifting techniques and tools.
- Push and/or pull 50-100 pounds or more regularly.
- Communicate with and understand team members and guests.
- See product and signage.
- Other projects and tasks assigned by management.
- Clean the bathroom.
- Attendance and timeliness are required.
Requirements
- Must be over the age of 21 to work at Spec's.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Must maintain a valid TABC Beverage Sellers Permit.
- Must maintain a valid Food Handlers Permit (in some cases).
- Proven experience in sales, retail, or customer service.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
