About the Role
This role oversees the planning, execution, and delivery of digital and automation projects for Canadian Employee Benefits & Retirement (EB&R). The Manager will lead automation initiatives, focusing on complex document automation, and manage the full project lifecycle while ensuring alignment with strategic goals and agile best practices.
Responsibilities
- Plan, define, and deliver digital and automation solutions for EB&R, including client-facing documents like Renewals, Mid-Year Reviews, Claims Experience Reports, and Stewardship Reports.
- Lead, motivate, and manage a multidisciplinary team and third-party suppliers.
- Act as the primary liaison between digital/automation teams, EB and GRS business stakeholders, and other project managers.
- Champion best practices, remove blockers, oversee iterative planning, and ensure agile delivery and process-improvement standards.
- Ensure projects meet quality standards, comply with regulations, and are delivered on time and within budget.
- Support service modernization, manage change initiatives, and maintain ongoing support for digital and automation solutions post-implementation.
Requirements
- Degree in IT, Digital, or Management, or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience managing complex, high-risk digital/automation projects and leading multidisciplinary teams is essential.
- Strategic and Tactical Thinking: Ability to plan at a high level while managing day-to-day project execution.
- Analytical and Organizational Skills: Strong problem-solving, prioritization, and resource-management capabilities.
- Communication and Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal skills to engage stakeholders, coach team members, and facilitate cross-functional collaboration.
- Technical Awareness: Understanding of digital solutions, automation technologies, emerging tech, and system integration processes.
- 7-10 years of relevant experience.
Skills
- Agile project delivery is an asset.
- Professional certifications such as PRINCE2, Agile (or equivalent) are often desirable.
- Experience within Employee Benefits, Group Retirement Services, or the broader insurance/financial services industry is an asset.
