About the Role

We are seeking a Data Security Architect to lead the design and implementation of enterprise data security capabilities. This role focuses on data-at-rest discovery, classification, risk reduction, and governance across various platforms, including on-premises, cloud, SaaS, and AI. You will report to the Data & AI Security Engineering leads and play a vital part in enabling the secure adoption of data and AI technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead enterprise-wide data-at-rest discovery, classification, and risk assessment initiatives across cloud, SaaS, structured, and unstructured data repositories.
  • Design and implement data security architectures leveraging platforms such as Varonis, BigID, Microsoft Purview, and similar DSPM technologies.
  • Define onboarding, scanning, classification, and monitoring strategies to improve visibility into sensitive data locations, ownership, and exposure risks.
  • Partner with Data & AI, Cloud, Infrastructure, Application, Privacy, and Risk teams to develop remediation plans and reduce sensitive data exposure.
  • Establish data security standards, governance frameworks, and strategic roadmaps supporting enterprise data protection, AI adoption, and regulatory compliance.
  • Provide architecture leadership for data discovery, data classification, DSPM, AI data security, and data governance initiatives.

Requirements

  • Deep expertise in data discovery, classification, DSPM, data governance, and data protection technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with Varonis, BigID, Microsoft Purview, or similar enterprise data security platforms.
  • Strong understanding of cloud data security across AWS, Azure, SaaS platforms, and modern data lake environments.
  • Experience leading large-scale data security transformations in complex global enterprise environments.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and strategic planning skills with the ability to influence both technical and executive audiences.
  • Experience supporting AI and data modernization initiatives with a strong focus on data protection and governance.
  • Familiarity with privacy and regulatory requirements including GDPR, CCPA, SOX, PCI-DSS, and other data protection frameworks.
  • Experience defining security architectures for data lakes, analytics platforms, generative AI solutions, and enterprise data ecosystems.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional programs and drive adoption of enterprise data security capabilities globally.

Experience Level

  • 7+ years of experience in Information Security, Data Security, Cybersecurity Architecture, or related disciplines.
  • 3+ years of experience designing and implementing enterprise data discovery, classification, or DSPM programs.

Education Level

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field.
  • CISSP, CCSP, CDPSE, CISM, Microsoft Security Certifications, AWS Security Specialty, or equivalent certifications are preferred.

Salary/Compensations

  • $120,000 - $202,500 Annual
