About the Role

Sizewell C is designing, financing, constructing, operating, and decommissioning a nuclear power plant and related infrastructure. The company is focused on delivering the Sizewell C project on time, on budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards. Sizewell C is entering a phase of growth as it matures into an independent organization and continues building one of the UK's largest energy projects.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake measurement and billing of quantities in accordance with standard methods of measurement.
  • Detail information used and assumptions made when undertaking measurement tasks.
  • Codify measured works items to prescribed cost and work breakdown structures.
  • Collect, analyse, and report cost data, including taking actions to address source data.
  • Collate and manage contemporary records.
  • Assist in the preparation of estimates and cost reports, including the collation of supporting documentation.
  • Support the tender process, including financial assessment and the preparation of Tender Reports.
  • Assist project teams in the contract administration and commercial management of projects within the Civil Works programme.
  • Monitor and forecast budgets, perform cost audits, and monitor and report on progress.
  • Actively support teams in the timely delivery of commercial management and assurance.
  • Assist senior team members with legal and contractual issues on projects.
  • Manage and control documents, including the maintenance of registers and schedules.
  • Perform arithmetic and other basic checks on work undertaken by others.
  • Work to budgets and timescales as agreed with senior managers.
  • Support and work collaboratively with the wider team.
  • Maintain and administer commercial management systems, including CEMAR, SAP, and Candy.
  • Support successful contract delivery and help manage the commercial impact of contracts on the wider Sizewell C project.

Requirements

  • Preferably degree educated in a relevant discipline (min 2.1), together with demonstrable relevant experience gained within a similar role.
  • Competent IT skills – proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel essential).
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Good organisational skills – with the ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and across multiple functions.
  • Good attention to detail and administrative capability.
  • Experience of the commercial management and contract administration processes, particularly those related to cost management, payment, variations, change management and final account settlement (Desirable).
  • Must meet the criteria for Security Vetting, which ordinarily requires UK residency for at least three of the past five years.

  • Circa £32,000 depending on experience

About the Company

  • Sizewell C's business is to design, finance, construct, commission, operate, maintain, and eventually decommission the nuclear power plant and related infrastructure at Sizewell C in Suffolk.
  • Sizewell C is economically regulated by OFGEM under the Regulated Asset Base (RAB) model similar to other UK electricity distribution networks and Thames Tideway.
  • Sizewell C construction strategy is to replicate the design of Hinkley Point C, using the majority of the same supply chain, but innovating in the way it is delivered to achieve savings in time and cost of around 20%.
  • Following Financial Completion and Revenue Commencement, Sizewell C is fully funded and is owned by; The Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero representing HM Government, La Caisse, Centrica, EDF and Amber Infrastructure.
