About the Role
We are seeking a Sr. Software Engineer to work with new cloud technologies on a Data Analytics and validation platform processing data from major Canadian companies. You will develop new solutions and enhancements to process large volumes of financial data for client-facing products, utilizing cloud-based technologies and requiring highly variable problem-solving.
Responsibilities
- Architect and oversee the deployment of scalable AI-driven applications, ensuring robust backend logic, stringent security protocols, and operational excellence.
- Leverage advanced agentic coding methodologies to engineer AI-augmented features and perform automated, Large Language Model (LLM)-based refactoring of legacy systems.
- Contribute to strategic technology roadmap initiatives by translating complex business requirements into autonomous, functional technical solutions.
- Execute high-quality code development, debugging, and troubleshooting using open-source AI technologies to maintain a high-performance Data Analytics platform.
- Utilize cloud-native technologies to design and implement resilient enterprise solutions.
- Elicit, analyze, and refine technical requirements through collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Proactively identify and remediate system impediments while managing priority-based delivery.
- Conduct rigorous system validation and provide sustained lifecycle support for core applications.
- Analyze and resolve complex performance bottlenecks to optimize system efficiency.
- Produce comprehensive technical documentation to facilitate seamless knowledge transfer and collaborative development.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to integrate proprietary systems with broader enterprise architectures.
- Triage and resolve critical product issues by performing root-cause analysis and assessing service quality impact.
- Engineer and manage high-concurrency applications across the entire software development lifecycle.
- Implement modern software engineering paradigms, including serverless computing, microservices, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Engage in technical roadmap planning and architectural reviews within a globally distributed engineering environment.
- Research and develop innovative software applications to enhance Equifax solutions while managing individual project deliverables.
- Address data scalability challenges and participate actively in Agile ceremonies, including Sprint Planning and Retrospectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 5+ years experience working in Java and Python
- Experience working with Agentic Frameworks (e.g., ADK, LangChain, LangGraph)
- 5+ years experience of working with APIs
- Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs
- GenAI Fundamentals: Understanding of how LLMs work, including Context Engineering
- 5+ years with SQL and postgreSQL
- 5+ years experience with software build management tools like Maven or Gradle
- 5+ years experience with backend technologies such as JAVA/J2EE, SpringBoot and Microservices
- 5+ years experience with software testing, performance, and quality engineering techniques and strategies
- 3+ years experience with Cloud technology: Google Cloud Platform
- Source code control management systems (e.g. Github copilot, Gemini CLI)
