About the Role

Responsible for managing, retaining, and expanding existing business relationships, developing new business, and servicing commercial relationships. Grows revenue by prospecting for new business and retaining/expanding existing customer relationships. Manages a portfolio of up to 75 clients with credit outstanding up to $100MM, focusing on businesses with sales of $2MM - $25MM in targeted industries. Negotiates with adherence to established guidelines, credit pricing, terms, and structure.

Responsibilities

  • Solicits new and prospective loan and deposit relationships for the Bank.
  • Develops and executes a business development plan to achieve goals.
  • Implements a disciplined contact schedule to promote client satisfaction, retain clients, and attract profitable customer relationships.
  • Identifies cross-sell opportunities for assigned relationships.
  • Markets a broad range of financial products to assigned clients and prospects.
  • Builds internal relationships with other departments to enhance the overall banking relationship.
  • Provides guidance to less experienced Commercial Bankers.
  • Partners with the Commercial Underwriter to assess credit risk and structure credit solutions.
  • Identifies client needs and offers appropriate bank products and services.
  • Cultivates prospects independently through referrals, networking, and community relationships.
  • Develops relationships with customers through calling and customer support activities.
  • Monitors loan portfolio credit quality status.
  • Analyzes customer credit status or obtains central underwriting approval and documentation.
  • Uses automated business development system to manage calling program, schedule appointments, develop customer profiles, and book new business.
  • Stays informed about industry, competitor, and financial market changes.
  • Assembles financial information and coordinates the generation of loan packages for approval.
  • Assists Group Managers with strategic planning projects.
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
  • Complies with all applicable federal, state, and local banking and industry laws and regulations.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5-7 years of relationship management experience selling banking products.
  • Extensive knowledge of credit and non-credit products.
  • Proficient in credit underwriting.
  • Prior credit experience including financial analysis.
  • Knowledge of commercial loan products & lending / compliance regulations.
  • Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 30 pounds if required.
