About the Role

The Dangerous Goods & Transportation Compliance Specialist is a newly created role offering the opportunity to significantly shape dangerous goods and transport compliance in Europe. This position establishes best practices, identifies compliance risks and potentials, and develops a scalable strategy to ensure the long-term success of European sites, contributing to the safe and compliant global transport of products and the protection of water quality.

Responsibilities

  • Responsibility for implementing the requirements of the EU PIC Regulation (EC No. 649/2012) and ensuring compliance with all relevant chemical and dangerous goods regulations.
  • Creation and processing of export notifications and explicit consent applications in the ECHA ePIC system, managing associated RINs.
  • Reviewing Safety Data Sheets (SDS), evaluating CLP classifications, and monitoring regulatory changes.
  • Ensuring compliance with dangerous goods regulations (ADR, RID, ADN, IMDG, IATA) and checking packaging, labeling, and documentation requirements.
  • Creating legally required reports, conducting internal audits, and deriving improvement measures.
  • Supporting departments with regulatory questions and actively contributing to process optimization, identifying improvement potentials and implementing sustainable solutions in European business areas.
  • Developing and conducting training programs on Dangerous Goods, Transport Compliance, and Hazmat.
  • Close collaboration with teams from Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, Regulatory Affairs, and Trade Compliance across Europe.

Requirements

  • Completed university degree with sound knowledge of chemical and dangerous goods law.
  • Experience with the EU PIC Regulation and ideally the ECHA ePIC system.
  • Good knowledge of relevant dangerous goods regulations (ADR, RID, ADN, IMDG, and/or IATA).
  • Analytical thinking and a structured, self-driven way of working.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and drive compliance initiatives without direct authority.
  • Strong consulting mindset and ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical business solutions.
  • Strong communication skills and enjoyment of collaborating with different business functions.
  • Very good German and good English language skills.
