About the Role

The Security Floor Manager assists the Director of Security and Security Manager in managing security operations, ensuring the safety of guests, employees, and company assets within the facility and on its grounds. This role involves managing team members, directing daily operations, and making independent judgments regarding staffing, scheduling, performance, and policy enforcement.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, lead, and direct Security Team Leads and Security Officers, ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Assist with oversight of company-wide key controls.
  • Conduct daily roll calls and training to communicate security status and potential issues.
  • Supervise subordinate security professionals, including hiring, training, assigning work, evaluating performance, and administering disciplinary actions.
  • Ensure employees are trained to work safely and efficiently within current regulatory guidelines.
  • Evaluate and adjust shift schedules to meet operational and departmental needs.
  • Detain persons for probable cause and notify appropriate authorities.
  • Ensure the integrity of gambling, count room, and cash handling procedures.
  • Prepare, maintain, and submit essential paperwork and reports.
  • Conduct property inspection tours.
  • Attend Fire Safety and NYS Guard Instructor courses.
  • Report gaming violations, internal control, company, and departmental policy violations.
  • Transport employees and guests via company vehicle as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must be able to obtain the appropriate license pursuant to applicable statutes, rules, and regulations.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as policy and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries from team members or guests.
  • Ability to write detailed instructions and correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Ability to compute complex mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to decipher various reports and maintain reports upon request.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and deadlines.
  • Must be able to interact with internal and external guests in a professional manner.
  • Must be able to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the property.
  • Regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls.
  • Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, and to sit, climb or balance, and stoop, stretch, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Moderate physical ability such as lift or maneuver at least fifteen (15) pounds.
  • Prolonged sitting during the shift.

Skills

  • Working knowledge of state gaming regulations pertaining to casino operations.
  • Fluency in English.

Experience Level

  • Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice or closely related field OR Two (2) years’ experience in a Security Supervisor position or equivalent OR Two (2) years’ management experience in the hiring position’s Department
  • Five (5) years’ related work experience in a Security setting required
  • Three (3) years’ related experience in Casino Security setting preferred

Education Level

  • Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice or closely related field
