About the Role

This role involves working with children and youth in an out-of-home emergency/urgency stabilization setting, collaborating with teams to implement care plans, and creating a safe, supportive environment. The position requires navigating conflict, overcoming obstacles, and providing support in crisis situations.

Responsibilities

• Working with children and youth in an out-of-home emergency/urgency stabilization setting
• Collaborate with teams to implement care plans that support participant's involvement in person centered programs that promote educational, behavioural, developmental, psychological, and emotional growth
• Creating and proving a safe, secure, and supportive environment for participants by developing and maintaining therapeutic relationships that attend to the diverse needs of youth
• Navigating conflict, overcoming obstacles, and being creative in providing support to participants while remaining calm and focused in crisis situations by utilizing effective de-escalation and decision-making skills
• Work successfully with diverse groups and demonstrate commitment to principles of equity, diversity, inclusion, and justice

Requirements

• Valid Class G (full) Driver’s License with a 3-year Uncertified Driver Record
• Satisfactory current (within the last 6 months) Broad Record Check
• Physical Health assessment: verification of up-to-date immunisations, negative TB Skin test (within the last 6 months), COVID vaccination status (2 doses), and ability to meet the physical and psychological requirements of the position
• Current Standard First Aid & CPR, Level C with AED training preferred

Work Type

Experience Level

• Minimum two (2) years of related experience providing behaviour intervention support

Education Level

• Completion of post-secondary diploma in Child and Youth Care (CYC) or Social Service Worker (SSW) - or an equivalent Human Services program

Salary/Compensations

• $28.67/ hour plus vacation pay
• 2.5% in lieu of benefits
