About the Role
The Assistant Golf Professional supports the Director of Golf and Golf Professional in managing all aspects of course operations, including pro-shop management, tournament coordination, customer service, and staff supervision. This role involves direct engagement with patrons through lessons and camps, requiring a versatile professional capable of working in a supervisory capacity.
Responsibilities
- Assist in golf course maintenance and golf cart fleet repair
- Supervise food and beverage crews and manage supply purchasing
- Schedule golf course employees
- Coordinate and implement tournaments, lessons, golf camps, and tee times
- Manage pro-shop merchandise purchasing, display, and sales
- Operate cash registers and generate sales reports
- Participate in staff meetings
- Ensure a safe environment for patrons and enforce company policies
- Assist with staff scheduling duties
Requirements
- Minimum one year of experience in golf course operations or similar work
- Two years of experience in employee supervision and scheduling
- Valid motor vehicle operator's license
- Ability to work evenings, holidays, and weekends
- Ability to stand for the majority of the workday
- Ability to work well under pressure and maintain composure
