About the Role
As a Junior Estimator in the electrical industry, you will create detailed and accurate bids for electrical construction projects. You will work in an established organization with a highly qualified team where you can develop your skills and grow your career.
Responsibilities
- Create detailed and accurate bids for electrical construction projects using Accubid, Excel and Jonas
- Review and analyze materials from the customer (e.g. blueprints, special requests) to determine appropriate cost, assumptions and feasibility of project to include in estimate
- Maintain relationships with customers, ensuring access to tender requests and repeated business
- Support pricing negotiations with vendors and subcontractors
- Organize documentation related to estimates and projects
- Collaborate with Project Managers and site leadership to evaluate the accuracy of estimates during the delivery phase, to review and refine estimates for future
Requirements
- A minimum of one year of electrical estimating experience or a relevant internship/co-op placement
- Familiarity or foundational proficiency with Accubid and MS Office
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical drawings
- Experience using Jonas is a significant asset
- Certificate of Qualification, College diploma or University degree in a related field is an asset
- Valid Ontario Driver's License, with own transportation an asset
