About the Role
GFT is seeking to build a pipeline of Senior Pipeline Engineer/Project Manager talent to join our Water team. This role involves contributing to innovative solutions for sustainable water management and infrastructure, focusing on areas like dams, water/wastewater treatment, stormwater management, and conveyance systems. The position offers a chance to integrate technology, sustainability, and compliance in water resources and environmental remediation projects.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and support to a team of engineers.
- Oversee the planning, design, and construction of water distribution, wastewater collection, and stormwater systems, as well as pump/lift stations.
- Prepare construction documents and specifications.
- Manage construction oversight and administration for new construction and rehabilitation projects.
- Manage and lead condition assessment evaluations for water, wastewater, and storm system assets.
- Meet established budgets and delivery schedules for assignments.
- Work directly with clients to identify needs and provide solutions.
- Lead teams in preparing winning proposals and successful presentations.
- Coordinate project execution with other disciplines and the Project/Program Manager.
- Develop small to large design projects from inception to completion.
- Prepare complete construction packages for engineering, procurement, and construction of water/wastewater systems.
- Manage and lead the growth of client relationships.
- Create and manage cost estimates and project schedules.
- Lead the preparation of detailed engineering calculations and analyses.
- Utilize design software to solve complex issues.
- Supervise and support the work of others.
- Mentor junior engineers and design/drafting technical staff.
- Oversee and participate in people management activities, including hiring, onboarding, staff development, mentoring, and performance management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or a related field of study.
- P.Eng. licensure with P.E.O.
- 10 years of related experience.
- Project experience including design and construction of water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, storm water systems, and pump/lift stations.
- Project experience with pipeline and pump station design projects.
- Strong, clear, and concise written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent technical writing skills.
- Experience managing preparation of and reviewing and approving project drawings, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates.
- Functional experience with MS Office applications.
- Active participation in regional or national professional associations.
