About the Role
As an Aircraft Security Guard, you will be responsible for maintaining positive control of the aircraft at all times and ensuring the safety of air crew members and cargo in a fast-paced, safety-obsessed aviation environment.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain controlled access of the aircraft entrance and its surroundings.
- Screen individuals and their belongings prior to aircraft boarding or airport operation area entry.
- Search aircraft for unauthorized material and/or personnel.
- Transport pilots to and from the aircraft to their destinations.
- Inspect items using x-ray viewing equipment to determine whether items contain objects that warrant further investigation.
- Maintain working knowledge of all emergency policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Report all suspicious items or activity to management.
- Maintain security of cargo and company equipment, observing for tampering or pilferage and reporting incidents.
- Maintain work area in clean condition and report damaged or broken equipment.
- Complete paperwork and forms connected with work assignments and enter data into the company's information system.
- Follow company procedures and protocols to ensure safe and responsible operations.
- Complete all required training.
- Be on time, prepared, and safe.
- Be willing to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Take reasonable care for the health, wellbeing, safety, and security of themselves and others.
- Cooperate with management to comply with legal requirements.
- Not intentionally or recklessly interfere with or misuse company-provided resources for health, wellbeing, safety, security, or welfare.
- Inform management of any work situation, equipment, or activity that represents a serious or immediate danger to health, wellbeing, safety, and security.
- Report hazards, near misses, incidents, accidents, or dangerous occurrences to management.
- Carry out work in accordance with provided information, training, and safety/security rules.
- Fully understand AGI Health & Safety and Security policies.
- Attend training courses as required by AGI.
Requirements
- Must be able to walk and stand on a frequent basis and for extended periods.
- Must be able to be alerted to moving vehicles or aircraft and use radio equipment to communicate with crew and airport authorities.
- Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions around jet and machinery noises.
- Must have a well-groomed appearance and customer service-oriented attitude.
- Possess a high school diploma, GED, or work experience equivalent.
- Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- If work location is in the United States, must have authorization to work in the United States.
- If work location is in Canada, must have authorization to work in Canada.
- Must complete ramp and SIDA training to obtain airport authority identification security.
- If required by customer or role access, be able to secure a Customs Seal through the respective governing agency.
- Must obtain Security Guard Card within 90-day probation period.
