About the Role

Griffith Foods is hiring a Quality Technician to perform product testing, maintain laboratory records, calibrate equipment, conduct environmental monitoring, and support quality assurance activities. Working closely with the Quality Manager, you will help ensure products meet quality, food safety, and regulatory standards while maintaining accurate documentation and safe work practices.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate daily with Quality Manager on all relevant quality matters.
  • Perform analysis on finished product samples to ensure they meet specifications.
  • Perform analysis on raw materials as required.
  • Issue proper laboratory records (written and digital) and provides results in the required format.
  • Prepare reports as required.
  • Ensure accuracy of lab equipment by calibrating/verifying equipment as assigned.
  • Prepare and standardize lab reagents.
  • Operate specialized lab instruments.
  • Maintain and update finished product standards.
  • Troubleshoot analysis, equipment and production issues in QS lab and manufacturing areas.
  • Maintain proper documentation.
  • Prepare technical reports.
  • Perform Environmental Swabs, ATP Swabs, Pre-OP Inspections as required.
  • Support all areas of the business with product quality-related issues.
  • Ensure safe work practices are followed.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
  • 1–2 years of hands-on experience in a food manufacturing, quality assurance, laboratory, or food safety environment.
  • Experience performing laboratory testing, maintaining quality documentation, and following standardized procedures.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and food safety principles.
  • Willingness to work onsite in Scarborough and support the required shift schedule.
  • Candidates must reside within a commutable distance of the Toronto, ON location.
