About the Role

The Quality Control Inspector II ensures products conform to engineering drawings, customer requirements, and applicable specifications. This position performs various inspections, supports quality planning, and serves as a technical resource.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex visual, dimensional, incoming, in-process, first article, and final inspections.
  • Accept or reject product based on engineering drawings, customer requirements, and inspection criteria; escalate unclear requirements.
  • Create, revise, and maintain controlled inspection documents, inspection plans, and inspection records.
  • Ensure travelers, inspection records, and quality documentation are complete, accurate, and maintained daily.
  • Prepare inspection reports, Certificates of Conformance (CoC), and support FAI and customer certification requirements.
  • Generate accurate Nonconforming Material Reports (NCMRs) for supplier and shop-floor issues.
  • Prioritize inspection activities based on customer commitments and production schedules.
  • Support QA with audits, CAPAs, root cause investigations, data collection, PPAPs, and quality planning.
  • Participate in structured problem solving using 5 Why, Fishbone, Pareto, A3, and 8D methodologies.
  • Support production teams in maintaining ISO 9001 compliance and customer quality requirements.
  • Perform ERP/material transactions following inspection completion.
  • Use precision inspection equipment including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, thread gauges, pin gauges, gauge blocks, HI-POT testers, continuity testers, pull-force testers, and related equipment.
  • Guide and mentor less experienced inspectors.
  • Identify opportunities to improve inspection methods, documentation accuracy, and manufacturing quality.
  • Communicate quality issues effectively with manufacturing, engineering, purchasing, and management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Accepting this position requires candidates to complete and pass a background check.
