About the Role

As part of the product management leadership team, the Lead Technology Product Manager is responsible for overall product lifecycle management for shared product components within Clinical Surveillance and Compliance (CSC). This role involves market research, customer engagement, and strategic roadmap development for key products like the learning management system, analytics product, and shared infrastructure components.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the lifecycle for shared solutions across CSC’s portfolio.
  • Mentor and develop team members.
  • Ensure product analysts and user experience designers maintain a prioritized product backlog and clearly articulate feature requirements.
  • Monitor product development to ensure work is prioritized and completed according to customer commitments.
  • Manage the product management life cycle using best practices.
  • Employ voice of customer and contextual inquiry interviews to identify high-value product enhancements.
  • Monitor investment ROI and product profitability.
  • Manage products through retirement when necessary.
  • Develop and communicate product strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Conduct market assessments to inform product roadmaps.
  • Assess potential roadmap items against business value by developing detailed business cases.
  • Determine ROI and present business cases for capital investment approval.
  • Develop, prioritize, and maintain rolling 12-month detailed roadmaps and 3-year visions.
  • Collaborate with product analysts and designers to assess required product functionality and create compelling UX designs.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Client Service, and Sales to ensure new product features consider internal and external stakeholder needs.
  • Plan for feature adoption by existing customers by considering migration and support needs in product design.
  • Seek input from market-facing teams for new product ideas, feature enhancement needs, and customer satisfaction opportunities.
  • Partner with product development and product analysts in an Agile environment to deconstruct requirements into stories.
  • Establish acceptance criteria and design user acceptance testing.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor of Science (BS), or Bachelor of Arts degree (BA), or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of direct product management experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing the product lifecycle, developing and maintaining the roadmap, creating business cases for new development, and defining a prioritized backlog.
  • Experience leading VOC interviews, user group forums, trade show presentations, and other direct customer engagement.
  • Direct experience in health IT, in an acute care hospital clinical setting, or with a payer or pharmacy benefits manager.
  • Experience working with clinical subject matter experts to solicit product requirements.
  • Experience developing product strategy and presenting new ideas to executive audiences and all levels of internal stakeholders.
  • Experience with Agile software development process, including decomposing product features into small units of work with requirements detailed as acceptance criteria and daily close interaction with product analysts.
  • Experience with requirements management and project management required to deliver complex projects.
  • Background and/or education in the healthcare industry with specific knowledge of hospital information technology preferred.
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand complex systems with multiple data interfaces and external partner relationships.
  • Self-motivated and able to make data-driven decisions.
  • Ability to prioritize customer needs that create the highest market value and customer satisfaction.
  • Desire to work collaboratively as part of a high-performing team with aggressive goals.
  • Ability to be flexible and adjust quickly to changes in priority or customer needs.
  • Periodic travel for customer meetings, internal meetings, trade shows, or customer events.
