About the Role

The Senior Cybersecurity Engineer is a hands-on contributor responsible for designing, implementing, and improving security controls across SOLV Energy’s enterprise technology environment. This role bridges IT and OT security, managing cloud-based corporate systems and NERC CIP-regulated operational technology. The position also serves as the lead for cybersecurity due diligence and integration during merger, acquisition, and divestiture activities.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable security architectures across IT, OT, cloud, and application environments.
  • Lead security architecture and infrastructure reviews to provide secure-by-design recommendations.
  • Manage and deploy advanced security solutions for cloud and on-premise environments.
  • Lead cross-functional security initiatives to ensure measurable risk reduction.
  • Drive automation and integration across the security toolset to improve operational efficiency.
  • Lead OT/ICS security architecture for NERC CIP-regulated environments using the Purdue Model and ISA/IEC 62443.
  • Design OT-specific controls that respect the availability and safety constraints of generation systems.
  • Partner with OT Engineering to harden control systems and support NERC CIP compliance audits.
  • Serve as the cybersecurity lead for merger, acquisition, and divestiture technical due diligence.
  • Develop integration plans to onboard acquired environments and assets into the security program.
  • Act as a senior subject matter expert for incident response and complex technical investigations.
  • Develop and manage a comprehensive vulnerability management program across IT and OT.
  • Collaborate with the SOC team on log source onboarding, detection engineering, and alert tuning.
  • Mentor the SecOps team and provide security training to process and control owners.
  • Partner with software development teams to embed secure coding practices within the SSDLC.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of progressive cybersecurity experience, including cloud and on-premise environments.
  • Hands-on experience securing Operational Technology (OT) or Industrial Control System (ICS) environments.
  • Applied knowledge of the Purdue Model and ISA/IEC 62443.
  • Experience supporting cybersecurity aspects of mergers, acquisitions, or divestitures.
  • Experience designing and implementing enterprise security architectures.
  • Knowledge of Identity and Access Management in Microsoft Entra ID and M365.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 Defender for incident response and threat hunting.
  • Understanding of network segmentation, identity architecture, and zero trust principles.
  • Experience developing and managing a vulnerability management program.
  • Experience developing incident response plans and runbooks.
  • Familiarity with common network, system, and web application attacks.
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as NERC CIP, NIST CSF, NIST 800-82, ISO 27001/2, and SOX.
  • Strong project ownership and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
