About the Role

ARA Diagnostic Imaging, a practice of Radiology Partners, is seeking to transform radiology by investing in its people and delivering exceptional outpatient imaging. Join a team that offers meaningful, sustainable careers with a strong local presence and national support.

Responsibilities

• Perform and maintain monthly quality control on ultrasound systems as required by credentialing organizations.
• Perform ultrasound procedures as prescribed by a physician, operating equipment and processing images according to established techniques.
• Ensure technical quality of images and exercise judgment in processing the assigned workload.
• Assist the radiologist in performing image-guided diagnostic and invasive procedures.
• Prepare patients for ultrasound procedures, including escorting, providing instructions, and positioning.
• Select transducers and make equipment adjustments according to test specifications.
• Ensure safety procedures and universal precautions are used at all times.
• Assess patient's previous exams/reports and load/digitize outside studies if applicable.
• Review referral forms for accuracy and communicate referrals to the radiologist.
• Administer medication as prescribed by a physician for certain procedures.

Requirements

• Knowledge of ultrasound technology principles and procedures, normally acquired through completion of an ultrasound technology training program.
• Knowledge and work experience necessary to independently conduct routine and specialized radiologic tests.
• Familiarity with physician and department work methods and facility policies and procedures.
• Analytical skills necessary to conduct routine ultrasound tests, review results for accuracy and quality, verify patient information, complete medical records, and monitor supply levels.
• Current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) recognized by the American Heart Association.
• Current registry by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or registry-eligible and obtain registry within one year of employment.
