About the Role

The Toronto Cricket Skating and Curling Club is seeking a Front Desk Receptionist for the pm shift to join their Admin. Department. This role is crucial for creating a positive first impression for members and guests, professionally representing the Club, and ensuring effective communication.

Responsibilities

  • Create a welcoming environment by greeting members and guests, and handling phone calls.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Club departments, events, and bookings via Northstar to assist members.
  • Assist members with appointment booking and cancellation, and manage rain-out blockages and messages through Northstar.
  • Support Club communications by managing mail and maintaining Club-wide information.
  • Monitor Club entry using fob access and guest registration, record unauthorized entries, and communicate guest arrivals.
  • Liaise with departments to address member service expectations, such as maintenance or housekeeping requests.
  • Contact appropriate departments regarding changes in members’ financial statuses and charging eligibility.
  • Monitor security cameras and report unauthorized individuals or suspicious activities.
  • Collaborate with the Duty Manager for emergency announcements and handle emergency service calls.
  • Log and turn over lost property to the lost and found area daily.
  • Work in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) and Club safety policies.
  • Adhere to the Well Played service model (Prompt, Personalized, Polite) to support member services and workplace respect.

Requirements

  • Some post-secondary education required, preferably in hospitality or a related program.
  • Standard First Aid and CPR/AED certification is an asset.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a private club or similar environment is preferred.
  • Working level proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook is required.
  • Office equipment and computer literacy in a professional setting is required.
  • Knowledge in Northstar or similar club management software is an asset.
  • Ability to interpret and implement policies in a customer-centric context.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize requests, and handle interruptions effectively.
